CL31 is very similar to the transaction CL30N – it also allows you to search objects based on their classification value. The only difference between the two transactions is that CL30N works class-based, while in CL31 you only have to enter a class type.
In both transactions, it is possible to select characteristics and define values that should be matched. In CL31, the system will return a list of objects that match the given classification values, regardless of which class they are assigned in.
So, if the class of an object matters to you, use CL30N. If you only look for values, no matter in which class they have been assigned, you should use CL31.
