Privacy Statement

Like millions of other websites and services, I use Google Analytics to get an idea about the number and regional distribution of my visitors. I do this to optimize the experience for my users and the website community. Google requires me to post the following privacy statement.

Use of Google Analytics

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Opting out of Google Analytics

If you do not wish to be tracked by Google Analytics, you can opt out by installing Google’s own Plugin to opt out of Google Analytics.

Use of Google AdSense

To refinance the expenses for the website and the time needed to write blog posts, I display advertisements on this site using Google AdSense. You should know the following about Google’s AdSense service:

  • Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website.
  • Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to website users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • The DoubleClick cookie is used by Google in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser.
Opting out of Google AdSense

Users may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting the ads preference manager.
